our mINISTRIES
Music Department
The definition as it stands in the natural allows us to see that anyone can sing gospel music, when it is viewed as a mere art form; anyone can perform well, when gospel music is treated as a formula or an equation. However, the ministry of destroying yokes, changing lives and outlooks can only be filled through the anointing and the power of the Holy Ghost. Our goal is to create an atmosphere for the Spirit of God to have free course. We understand however, that as the choir ministers, it literally takes territory in the spirit, engaging in spiritual warfare. (Psalms 149, Ephesians 6:12)
Evangelism
The Department of Evangelism exists to provide structure for the outreach efforts of the Church Of God in Christ, Inc. (COGIC) through its evangelists and local churches. Seeking the empowerment of the Holy Ghost, evangelists and local churches extend the Kingdom of God by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations.
Children’s Ministry
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it Proverbs 22:6.
Our goal is to provide training for children everywhere through an extensive range of auxiliaries, programs and activities. The Children’s Ministry of the Church of God in Christ works to serve the children of our church by helping them to learn biblical principles, understanding of the Christian faith, and lead them to Christ.
Missions
To educate, train, and develop preachers and missionaries in all aspects of missions work.
To continue the progression of the preaching of the gospel in foreign countries, especially in areas where there are no missionaries and areas where sound doctrine is not being preached.
To assist in the completion of the existing building and expansion projects currently underway, such as our orphanages, schools, and churches. Haiti and South Africa are two areas where work is currently in need of completion.
To strengthen our International Church growth by continuing to appoint ministers and overseers to carry out the work.
To continue conducting periodic visits to the established International Church Sites.
To provide better financial assistance in areas where there is severe economic hardship.
To improve the efforts for obtaining better financial support for the foreign works while lessening the struggle. The accomplishment of this specific goal, upon which the other goals are hinged, will be a direct result of a reasonable budget allocated for mission work
